The following period of time, not to exceed 30 minutes without Council approval, is the time provided for persons in the audience to speak to the Council on any items of City business which appear on this agenda.  To make a comment the person must be acknowledged by the presiding office. Before making any comments the person must state their name and address for the record. Except with Council approval comments shall be limited to five (5) minutes per person.  Each person may only speak once on any one subject. No discussion, testimony or evidence is allowed on items involving appeals of Planning Commission decisions or items that are scheduled for a Public Hearing or involving deliberations for which a public hearing has been closed.  All comments are to be made to the presiding officer and shall not be made directly to any Councilor, staff or other person.

Persons desiring to speak to the Council on items not on the agenda shall do so under item 10, Public Comment on Items Not on the Agenda

5.    OLD BUSINESS

A.   SHOREY – VARIANCE (V 3-10) FOR SINGLE FAMILY HOME WITHOUT SANITARY/WATER CONNECTIONS AT VACANT LOT NORTH OF 1200 NORTH RIVER ROAD.  Applicant is seeking permission to build a single family home on a 2.63 acre vacant lot without connections to the public sanitary sewer and without adequate water main provision at this time (Map No. 20-03-28-24; Tax Lot No. 1903)   

                       6.    NEW BUSINESS

A.   SHELTER RESOURCES – COMPREHENSIVE PLAN MAP AMENDMENT AND ZONE CHANGE (MCPA 2-10) TO AMEND COMPREHENSIVE PLAN LAND USE MAP.  Applicant is seeking to amend Comprehensive Plan Land Use Map to redesignate 2.98 acres on North 16th Street from L Low Density Residential to M Medium Density Residential and change the Land Use Designation from R-1 Low Density Residential to R-2 Multiple Family Residential (Map No. 20-03-28-14; Tax Lot No. 902)

B.   CITY OF COTTAGE GROVE – VARIANCE (V 6-10) FOR RIPARIAN SETBACK VARIANCE.  Applicant is seeking permission to build an interpretive structure in the 50 foot riparian setback at the Chambers Railroad Bridge at the end of Tyler Avenue (Map No. 20-03-33-23; Tax Lot No. 9700)

Cottage Grove Budget Committee
The Budget Committee met on May 19 & 26,2009  and approved the 2009-10 Budget with some minor changes.  The Cottage Grove City Council will be considering the Approved Budget for adoption at the June 22, 2009 City Council meeting.
