Community Service Officer
Patrol Officers and the Community Service Officers (CSO) have the duty of parking enforcement city wide. This includes enforcing city ordinances, state statutes and abandoned vehicles.
In addition, CSOs assist with responses to non-emergency calls for service, animal control, jail duties, fingerprinting, 3050 shoplift program and other prevention programs. One of the CSOs is a certified Car Seat Technician, and is available for inspections. CSOs also conduct traffic direction at scenes or events, presents prevention education and personal safety awareness to appropriate community groups, serves as a contact person to citizen inquiries and provides information on public safety regulations, policies and procedures as appropriate, collects data from various sources and prepares and distributes information materials.
Car seat inspections are by appointment only.
