Police K9 Team
The Cottage Grove Police Departments K-9 program began in 1996.
There have been three Schutzhund trained German Shepherds, K9’s “Buddy”, “Fredo”, and JoJo (yoyo), that have served the City of Cottage Grove. In May of 2021,K9 “Marco” (Breed: Belgian Maliniois), a KNPV trained Patrol canine Retired. Our detection K9 “Kimber”, (Breed: Labrador Retriever), retired in 2020. We appreciate their loyal service to the Cottage Grove Police Department.
August 2023 we brought on our newest member of our Department, K9 Ripp! K9 Ripp has been assigned to Officer Carlton and we know these two will make a great team for our community. Ripp is a 4 Year old Belgian Malinois from Washington State.
